A sensual identity for bespoke bridal design

Varca is a bridal atelier making wedding dresses and suits since 2017. Their distinctive style expresses confidence and sensuality, with influences from Victorian, 1960s, and 1970s fashion.

The studio asked for an identity to capture its bold sensibility, balance of elegance and drama, emphasis on bespoke handmade garments, and ambition.

The wordmark is crafted from Lust, Neil Summerour’s voluptuous Herb Lubalin-inspired typeface. Dropping the thin strokes introduced an ethereal quality to the substantial letterforms and sets it apart from the didones that saturate high fashion branding.

The final mark, supplemented by the V as a secondary logo, is incisive, evocative, and indicative of the quality of the studio.
